February 27th Chapters monthly meeting at Saddlebrook Rec. Center at 1 pm. Our chapter has received the book “Korea Reborn A Grateful Nation” and is offering it to those members who have not received it. There is “no cost” for the book. So come to the February meeting and pickup one.
Fundraisers dates are finalized and Bill may need some volunteers to man the table. As always he will send out an email to all the members that have volunteered in the past to confirm times and participation. If you would like to help for this event , Bill will have a signup sheet at the meeting.
March 6th is our Breakfast Social at Bob Evans 2199 Parr Drive, the Villages at 9 am. These socials are always on the first Wednesday and pay your own. Don’t forget to ask for the military discount to your bill/check.
“Keep March 26th open” for our monthly meeting at Saddlebrook Rec. Center at 1 pm. We will have speakers and the Study group on Lightning giving us a talk / insights, tips and display of various pieces of equipment . March starts the season of lightning in Florida, (and we have the distinguished title of lightning capital of the USA). Bring family and friends to hear about this important educational presentation to learn about the myths and misunderstandings of this weather event.
Our Korean War Monument inscription; KOREAN WAR 1950 – 1953 A NATION SAVED has been ordered and should be delivered in June 2024. It will be placed in the Villages Memorial Park, under the large Oak tree. Our Chapter will gratefully accept donations to help defray the chapters cost. Tell America Program, is a video presentation to educate students about Korea’s history and mainly about the Korean War, which has often been referred to as “The Forgotten War”. This program is to ensure it’s not forgotten. Many students don’t know about the Korean War and that it is a part of our countries history. This program will start up again in 2024.
