Mark your calendars for this veterans appreciation event; Phantom Paratrooper Water Jump – hosted by Phantom Airborne Brigade & sponsored by City of Tavares. Saturday, November 2, 2024 Phantom Airborne Brigade is a group of Veteran Army Rangers who organize an airborne operation where veterans parachute from the airplane into Lake Dora. 200 Paratroopers, Jump / Drop times are 0900 to 1400 (2PM). Spectators will be able to see the jumpers from Wooton Park, 100 E Ruby St. Tavares, FL. 32778

Our next Breakfast Social will be on November 6, 2024 at Bob Evans, 2199 Parr Drive the Villages. This is the last breakfast social for 2024.
We will not have a chapter meeting in November or December, due to closeness to Thanksgiving and Christmas.
HEADS UP: For this years Christmas Party! Note: An email will be going out to the membership sometime in late October, and your response to attend is required. The Chapter is having a Luncheon on the afternoon of December 11th at 12:30. It will be at Evans Prairie CC Restaurant, 1825 Evans Prairie Trail, The Villages. Each attendee will select their meal from the place’s menu and pay that amount. Please feel free to wear something festive for the holiday. Just a great social lunch of our veterans and family to get together for the last time prior to the holidays. Chapter is providing entertainment by guitarist, singer Harry Rauch from 1pm to 2pm. Please call either; Jack Cenkus at 860-227-5340 or Ken Myers at 352-350-3239 by December 2nd so we can get a total of attendees to the restaurant on Dec. 4th. Hope to see you there.
Tell America Program, is a video presentation to educate students in the surrounding schools about Korea’s history and mainly about the Korean War, which has often been referred to as “The Forgotten War”. This program is to ensure it’s not forgotten. Many students don’t know about the Korean War and that it is a part of our countries history. This program should start up again in 2025. Ambassador for Peace Medal awarded by the South Korean Government that is entitled to any war veteran that served in Korea between June 1950 to July 1953 either on the ground, in the waters or in the air around Korea. Please bring a copy of your DD-214 to our monthly meetings in Saddlebrook Rec. Center 3010 Saddlebrook Lane, The Villages, always the fourth Tuesday of each month or bring it to the breakfast social at Bob Evans 2199 Parr Drive, The Villages, always the first Wednesday of each month so you can fill out the application that will be submitted to the Korean Consulate in Atlanta, GA.
The Chapter is again going to resurrect tohave a “Speaker Series”that will have a speaker at our monthly meetings. Stay tuned for this.
